The news before it happens

NewsBiscuit was founded in September 2006 by John O’Farrell to create a new outlet for British humour on the internet. It currently has a small team of regular contributors who write for NewsBiscuit for the love of it, while Rob Dee (Red) was discovered to also have an enormous talent for creating great pictures to match the stories. If you would like to submit stuff for consideration, please go to You Write The News. Other ideas such as doctored photos, video downloads and audio files may also be welcome later if we don’t fold in the first few years with massive debts and various pending lawsuits. But at the moment our target is one news story per day, every day, all of which can be read in the archives under the appropriate headings.

The website was approached by BBC Light Entertainment to make a pilot radio show which was recorded in June 2008 and may lead to a series if we ever get round to thinking about how to rework the format. A NewsBiscuit book ‘Isle of Wight to Get Ceefax’ features some of the best stories from the site’s first two years and outside writers have been paid for any material that has been re-used in these other media.

If you want to support NewsBiscuit, you can do so in a variety of ways, have a look here for some ideas.
