Oxford University is the latest institution to be hit by the expenses scandal.

Professor Ruth Padel resigned her post yesterday - officially because of a smear campaign against a rival candidate. But News Biscuit can reveal that the real reason was an expenses scam, with the poet claiming for the cost of quill pens, a chaise longue, laudunum, rent of a garret and numerous trips to the Lake District, allegedely "for inspirational purposes".
