The rural alternative to City Farms is being piloted in Dorset this week, as country folk are invited to come and visit a real life working city slum in the middle of an area of outstanding natural beauty. The ‘Urban Blight Experience’ is a new attraction, intended to educate and entertain those used to living in a rural idyll, and ensure that traditional urban crafts such as tagging, car crime, and flytipping do not die out.

Psychologists studying the secrets of attraction say they have exciting new evidence showing how the rapidly the human brain is capable of making deeply perceptive judgements.

A new study at the University of Aberdeen shows that it took participants at a speed dating event between two and three seconds to realise what a horrendous mistake they had made. ‘The findings came as a big surprise to us,’ commented Prof Stuart Marsh. ‘Previous findings suggested it took a full twenty minutes before the awful truth truly sank in.‘
